Privacy policy
We keep data collection to a minimum. This page explains what we store, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Account email — if you sign in, we store your email address to give you access to your practice tests.
- Usage analytics — with your consent, we record page visits using a random visitor ID stored in your browser, along with the page, the referrer, and your browser's user-agent string. This is used to understand traffic and is not used to identify you personally, but the user-agent is stored so it is not fully anonymous. If you decline via the cookie banner, no visitor ID is set and no analytics are recorded.
- Enquiries — if you contact us, we store your name, email, message, and your browser's user-agent so we can respond.
- Referral code — if you arrive via a referral link, we store the code in a cookie for up to 45 days so a purchase can be attributed.
- Payment — payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card details.
Who processes your data
We share the minimum necessary data with the following processors, who act on our behalf:
- Neon — our database provider, which stores accounts, entitlements, enquiries and analytics.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, which serves the site and processes requests.
- Stripe — processes payments.
- Resend — delivers sign-in links, receipts and enquiry notifications.
Sign-in links and purchase receipts are sent via Resend. We don't send marketing email unless you ask us to.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Analytics and enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or anonymised. Referral cookies expire after 45 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your cookies. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@traindrivertests.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
